TBpeople Philippines began their day with a courtesy call to Dr. Virginia Narciso, the Local Health Support Division Chief at the Department of Health Center for Health Development (DOH CHD). They were joined by Dr. Jennifer Joyce Pira, the Communicable Diseases Cluster Head; Kevin Lorenz Ducusin from the Communications Management Unit; and Ruthana Uy from the Field Operations Section.
The purpose of this meeting was to introduce TBpeople Philippines and discuss their plans to create a City Association Plan through Discipleship Training. They also aimed to strengthen relationships and build strong collaborations and partnerships with the health leaders in attendance. This initial meeting set the stage for future cooperation to combat tuberculosis in the region.
Following the meeting, TBpeople Philippines conducted a TB orientation session for health workers and students from St. Louis School. The goal of this session was to educate participants about tuberculosis and share the organization’s plans and roadmap for addressing the disease in the Cordillera Region.
Through these efforts, TBpeople Philippines is committed to raising awareness about tuberculosis and fostering a community-based approach to tackling the disease. By engaging with local health leaders and educating future health professionals, the organization aims to make a significant impact in the fight against tuberculosis.
