TBpeople Philippines Expands Tuberculosis Awareness Efforts in South Cotabato
TBpeople Philippines expanded their outreach through a radio guesting at 99.3 DXNM – FM Radio Kahiusa. During the broadcast, TBpeople Philippines, President and Founder Ms. Louie Zepeda-Teng, Media Officer Mr. Joegene Mangilaya, and TBpeople Philippines President Ms. Cherry Florida discussed the organization’s TB initiatives in Davao and SOCCSKSARGEN Region. They also shared personal experiences of overcoming TB, providing listeners with relatable stories of resilience and hope. This segment aimed to raise awareness and encourage those affected by TB to seek timely treatment.
Continuing their advocacy, the TBpeople Philippines team engaged in a series of courtesy calls to strengthen local partnerships and spread their message further. They met with Tupi Mayor Romeo Tamayo and Municipal Health Officer Dr. Lester C. Claveria of Tupi/Agten Tufi, as well as Hon. Eugene Mangilaya, the Kapitan of Crossing Rubber Barangay. These meetings were pivotal in introducing TBpeople Philippines’ mission and discussing collaborative efforts to combat tuberculosis in these areas.
The overarching goal of these engagements is to educate and raise awareness in the region about tuberculosis, aiming for a TB-free city. By fostering strong community partnerships and enhancing public knowledge, TBpeople Philippines continues to make breakthroughs in the fight against this debilitating disease.
