TBpeople Philippines Promotes Health Awareness at Cordillera Day Celebration in Baguio City
TBpeople Philippines actively participated in the Cordillera Day Celebration through a Health Caravan held in Brgy. Camdas, Quirino Hill, Baguio City. The event was attended by Councilor Betty Lourdes Tabanda, the chairman of health of the city council, and Dr. Alice. The Health Caravan engaged many residents from Brgy. Camdas and nearby areas, offering them access to valuable healthcare services provided by the Department of Health – Cordillera Administrative Region (DOH CAR).
The Health Caravan featured several activities aimed at promoting health and wellness in the community. Residents were able to avail themselves of free chest X-rays, dental check-ups, and breast cancer screenings. These services were crucial in helping individuals identify potential health issues early and receive the necessary guidance and support. The event also provided an excellent opportunity for community members to learn more about maintaining their health and the importance of regular check-ups.
During the celebration, TBpeople Philippines focused on educating the community about tuberculosis (TB) and shared their plans for Baguio City. They campaigned for the Fast Track the Cure Campaign, which aims to accelerate efforts to eliminate TB by improving access to treatment and raising awareness. Additionally, TBpeople Philippines promoted the One Impact App, a tool designed to empower individuals with information about TB and help them track their health status. By engaging with the community at events like the Cordillera Day Celebration, TBpeople Philippines aims to build strong partnerships and work towards a healthier, TB-free Baguio City.
